HARD SOUL TO SUPPORT THE MOTH AND THE FLAME THIS MONTH IN ALBANY Band plan to debut new material during WEQX-sponsored concert
ALBANY, NY – Albany rockers Hard Soul return to the stage this month, bringing their unique emotive rock sound to The Hollow Bar in Albany, NY. The band will be direct support to Los Angeles-based indie alternative rockers The Moth and The Flame on Wednesday, March 9, at The Hollow in downtown Albany, NY, presented by 102.7 WEQX.
“We’ve been relatively quiet the last few months, diligently working on new material for our next record,” said Hard Soul frontman and songwriter Johnny Salka. “So before we hit the studio later this year, we’re going to take the opportunity to test out some new tunes for the first time live in front of some hungry music fans at The Hollow!”
Special advance tickets are available for a special price of $10.27 in a nod of appreciation to WEQX‘s commitment to providing quality concerts for music lovers across the Capital Region.
Hard Soul have announced select tour dates for 2016, with additional spring & summer tour dates forthcoming. All show information will be posted on their official website, thehardsoul.com

Why:Hard Soul is Johnny Salka, Nick Kossor, Steve Thompson, Mark Podbielski, and Sean Murphy. The five-piece emotive rock group merges fat riffs infused with pop sensibilities to craft a uniquely heavy and infectious sound all their own. The band released their third EP ‘Fairer Shores’ in 2015.
For those who haven’t heard, we recently parted ways with our bass player Ryan Klaeysen. We have nothing but respect for Ryan and wish him the best in all his musical endeavors.
With that said, we want to extend a warm welcome to our new bass player Sean Murphy. Hard Soul shares a little history with Sean; in 2013, Sean filled in during a run of incredibly important spring & summer shows. Beyond that, Johnny and Sean spent many years together ripping it up on the heavy metal circuit. We cannot think of anyone else we’d rather have holding down the low end on the four-strings and incredibly excited to have Sean among our ranks. Check out the video below and say hello to Sean!
